When we think of minerals and metals – we tend to think of pretty
boring stuff. Aluminum, copper, sodium – these are all very useful and
valuable metals and minerals – but they’re common enough that we know
each of them fairly well. We probably even have daily interaction with
each.
But the following minerals and metals are unlike anything you’ve probably ever seen before. Their colors, patterns, shapes, textures, and forms are all downright amazing. Some of these look like they’ve been harvested from an alien planet!

I don’t know about you, but having a
handful of gallium looks like a good time… A metal that melts in your
hand!? That’s incredible! The pattern on the Malachite specimen was out
of this world. Really.. it looks like something from another planet.
